(KLZA) -- Harvest season is in full swing and this past weekend a number of fire calls went out related to harvest.
The Falls City Rural Fire Department and Verdon Fire Departments both responded to a call northwest of Falls City. A combine operated by Darin Simon caught on fire and the bean field he was in also caught on fire.
Fire Department members said the fire was doused before major damage occurred.
The Falls City Rural Department was also called to a stubble fire five miles east of Falls City just north of Highway 159.
The other call was in Stella where a grain truck fire was reported. No report on the damage was available.
Farmers are reminded to have fire extinguishers handy when harvesting.
