Falls City Veteran's Day Program Set

(KTNC) -  The guest speaker has been announced for this year’s Veteran’s Day Program in Falls City.
 Captain Daniel Fritz, the son of Lyle and Noala Fritz of Verdon and a 2003 Dawson-Verdon High School graduate, will be the guest speaker at the November 11 program.
 After graduating from Dawson-Verdon, Captain Fritz attended the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, for one year.  He then attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental geography.
 He graduated from Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia, in 2009, and was assigned to the 4th Armor Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, where he was a Rifle Platoon Leader, Scout Platoon Leader, and Headquarters Company Executive Officer from July 2009 to May 2012.  After returning from the unit’s 12-month deployment to Iraq, Captain Fritz attended the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, graduating in November 2012.
  He is currently assigned to the Fourth Infantry Brigade Combat Team, First Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas, serving as an Operations Officer.  He’ll take command of Chosen Company in January.
 Captain Fritz’s awards include the Army commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Iraqi Campaign Medal.
 The Falls City Veteran’s Day program will be held Monday, November 11, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Falls City High School.  The Veteran’s Day Parade will be held at 1:30 that afternoon, and the Veteran’s Day dinner and program will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church.
