The Governor's Conference on the Future of Water in Kansas, being held in Manhattan, Kan., Oct. 24-25, will highlight the latest policy and research developments of water issues in Kansas. It also will feature From the Land of Kansas™ members that will provide food, drink and other Kansas products in welcome bags for conference attendees.
Kansas food products will be featured throughout the conference during refreshment breaks and during the reception. From the Land of Kansas members, Jose Peppers, Shawnee; Prairie Harvest, Newton; Aunt Susie’s Gourmet Kettle Corn, Hudson; and PrairieFire Coffee Roasters, Wichita will provide food and beverages for conference breaks.

This type of exposure for From the Land of Kansas is priceless,” said From the Land of Kansas Specialist Annarose Hart. “We hope From the Land of Kansas’ involvement at the Governor’s water conference will serve as a model for other conferences to begin inviting From the Land of Kansas members to participate. Our members look forward to making new connections as they continue to produce and promote Kansas products.”
The Governor’s water conference brings together scientists, water managers, state and federal officials and legislators, city and county administrators, environmental organizations, irrigators and citizens who share an interest in Kansas water resources. Governor Sam Brownback will address the need for a long-term plan for water development, use and conservation by calling for a 50-Year Vision for Kansas water during the conference.
