( KMZA)--A rape charge has been dismissed against a 21-year-old Centralia man.
Nemaha County Attorney Brad Lippert dismissed the charge against Nicholas Russo after the victim refused to appear and testify at a preliminary hearing last week. The case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning it can be filed again.
Russo was released from custody.
He was arrested in August following an investigation by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department stemming from a rape allegation involving a young girl under the age of consent in the Centralia area.
