(KLZA) A ceremony for disposal of unserviceable flags took place at the Falls City Middle School on October 17th. The retirement of the collected flags was conducted by the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion. Members of the American Legion burned each flag, one by one, with ceremonial respect. Middle School students and staff watched quietly. The ceremony conducted at Falls City Middle School is a great lesson for our students on what it means to be reverent during ceremonies that require their respect and attention.
The Falls City Public School system would like to thank the American Legion and the VFW Auxiliary for allowing our school to participate in this ceremony. The School district also thanked the Falls City Volunteer Fire Department who was present.
