(KLZA) -- Representatives of the Nebraska State Chamber held a meeting in Falls City in late October for the purpose of providing information about the 2014 Nebraska legislative session and to hear from area business people about their concerns.
State Chamber President Barry Kennedy explained to the small gathering a bit about what the State Chamber does. The three main areas the State Chamber is involved in is taxation, economic development and labor relations.
The 2014 Legislative session is the 60-day session and Kennedy expects it will be interesting as Senators begin to jockey for future positions. 17 current Senators are term limited and several are running for Governor of Nebraska. Several also chair various committees in the Legislature.
Among those attending the Falls City meeting was 1st District State Senator Dan Watermeier. Kennedy says he believes Watermeier is doing a good job and is developing into a leader in the Nebraska Unicameral.
