(KAIR)--Atchison county EMS and police were called to the Wal Mart parking lot on the afternoon of October 31st after receiving a report of a man laying next to a vehicle and bleeding from his head.
Atchison County Undersheriff Joe Butner says that when officials arrived on the scene, they discovered that 48-year old William Foster of Kansas City was intoxicated, and had fallen out of his vehicle. Upon investigation, they found items in his vehicle that belonged to a woman that lived nearby. Further investigation revealed that he had come to town, allegedly entered her residence, and removed several items that belonged to her including papers, two phones, and a firearm.
Butner said Foster had previously been in a relationship with the alleged victim and lived with her for a short time.
Foster was not taken into custody at the time, but a district court warrant was issued for his arrest shortly after. He turned himself into police on November 7th and faces one count each of burglary and theft.
She remains in the Atchison County Jail on $25,000 bond.
