USD 377 Adjusts To Elementary School Principal Resignation
12/11/2013

(KAIR)--It came as a bit of a surprise to the members of Atchison County's USD 377 school board when elementary school Principal Lisa Brookover asked to be released from her current contract effective at the end of December. The board approved her request during their meeting Monday night, and extended an elementary school contract to current high school social studies teacher Cy Wallisch. Superintendent Steve Wiseman says that the board shuffled some positions around, and were able to fill all open holes in house. Junior High social studies teacher Amanda Hughes will take over at the high school. Stacy Sheer, who was teaching elementary and junior high technology will move into the junior high social studies position.

Wiseman says that these moves only extend through the current school year, and a more permanent solution will be sought for the 2014-2015 school year. He says they will go through the normal process of selecting a new principal, and that as of now, the position is open for the upcoming school year.

Brookover has been a Kansas educator for over 34 years, and she had been principal at Atchison County Community Elementary school since August 2011.
