12/12/2013

(KLZA) ---32-year-old Desiderio Hernandez of Falls City was sentenced in Richardson County District Court Tuesday on an amended charge.

Hernandez was sentenced to three years of intensive supervised probation with a work ethic camp component on a felony charge of assault in the second degree.
Hernandez was originally charged with attempted second degree murder.

Police say Hernandez cut the throat of Damon Gates with a razor knife during an altercation between the two men at a home in the 800-block of Harlin Street in July.

Hernandez must also pay nearly $1,700 in costs and various probation fees in addition to transportation costs for the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department to transport him to the work ethic camp in McCook.
