(KNZA)--The giving spirit of the Christmas season is alive in Hiawatha.
Little Hands Child Care and Development center is working to collect food for those in need, as the facility's non-perishable food drive continues.
Underway for just under a month, the children of Little Hands have nearly filled a gigantic Christmas present, placed near the center's Christmas Tree, with food for those in need. However, community support is also sought, with donations being collected at Little Hands weekdays from 7:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening.
Although the center is locked at that time, due to safety reasons, those who wish to donate can simply leave their contributions in the entryway where staff, and children, will collect them.
The food drive will run through December 16th.
Anyone wanting to donate outside of business hours should call 785-991-0162.
