12/21/2013

(KLZA) Richardson County Commissioners met last week with Merle Bachman to further discuss the status of a bridge in Drainage District #8.

Commissioners have requested Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert and County Attorney Doug Merz review the situation together to conclude what Richardson County would be able to do to resolve the access situation in regards to replacing the bridge.

An agreement submitted by Falls City Economic Development and Growth Enterprise for funding in the amount of $20,000 for the period August 1, 2013 through July 31, 2014 was reviewed. Commissioners forwarded the agreement to legal counsel for review and will consider the agreement and a later meeting.

Commissioners discussed establishment of salaries for the County elected officials for the new term of office which is 2015 – 18.  No action was taken.

County Attorney Merz reviewed with the Board the Juvenile Diversion Program and funding requested for the grant program July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.  Additional funding will be available in 2014 with the County’s local match of $2,411 decreasing from $2,547 in 2013.

The Board approved the nomination of Mitch Merz for the District 1 County Extension Board replacing Alyce Sickel and Neal Kanel in District 3 replacing George Ketner.
