(KMZA)--A man is in custody following an early New Year’s Day shooting death in Pottawatomie County.
Sheriff Greg Riat says 21-year-old Pablo Alberto Gonzalez, of St. Marys, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree murder in the death of a 24-year-old Rossville man.
Riat says deputies were called to the St. Mary’s Police Station shortly after 4:30 Wednesday morning after a man suffering from a gunshot wound was brought to the police station by private vehicle. Riat says the man was deceased when deputies arrived.
Riat says a suspect was quickly developed and detained early in the incident. The victim is believed to have been a passenger in Gonzalez’s car. No additional details have been made public yet.
Gonzalez remains in the Pottawatomie County Jail.
