Details Emerge For Potential Horton Support

(KAIR)--Community cooperation and support.

That's what it will take to bring new life to the City of Horton's downtown business district, despite national support now being thrown behind the effort.

The Brown County community's business district disrepair gained national attention following last month's arrest, and overnight jail stay of 88-year-old Kenny Knudson, owner of a downtown business building cited by the city as a danger to the public.

That caught the attention of businessman, investor, philanthropist and CNBC television host Marcus Lemonis.

The current CEO of Camping World and Good Sam Enterprises is planning to make a trip to Horton to evaluate the state of the downtown district, in discussions with Mayor Tim Lentz to make the trip a reality.

The conversation between the two began when a family member of Lentz informed the Mayor Lemonis was looking to discuss the issue with him. From there, the contact began, with Lemonis looking to meet with local businessowners, and others, for a possible solution to the downtown's issues during the proposed visit.

Efforts to finalize the trip are ongoing, with a definite date expected to be hammered out in the near future.
