(KNZA)--Tickets are on sale for the annual Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce dinner planned for the evening of January 16th.
Chamber administrator Stacy Babb says a long list of award recipients will be honored during the dinner, being held at Hiawatha's Country Cabin.
That includes the Business of the Year award, which goes to Hiawatha Thriftway.
Earning the Volunteer of the Year award is George and Helen Melster along with Darryl and Elsie Monaghan. Babb says a new award will be handed out this year, with Bev Sunderman earning the Civil Service award.
Once the dinner wraps up, the awards are presented, and the honorees recognized, Babb says a special guest will take the focus, serving as the evening's speaker.
Ron Wilson, Director of the Huck Boyd National Institute for Rural Development will give a presentation called “Now That's Rural: Entrepreneurs and Innovators Who Shaped Kansas Communities.”
Tickets for the dinner are $30.00 per person, or $50.00 for a couple, and can be purchased through the Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce at (785) 742-7136. Online purchases can be made here.
The official deadline for reservations is the close of business today.
