(KAIR)--An Atchison man who turned himself into authorities Friday morning after failing to appear in court is facing additional charges.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie says those new charges against 21-year-old Timothy Ellis came after he reported to the Atchison County jail. As he was being booked into the facility, authorities found a clear plastic bag with a crystal like substance they believe to be methamphetamine.
Ellis was charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine and one count of traffic in contraband into a correctional facility. He remains in custody.
