May 6th Special Election Planned for Holton School Decision
01/15/2014

(KNZA)--If you live in Holton, a phone call might be coming regarding the Holton School District's plans to build a new elementary school.

USD 336 Superintendent Nancy Meyer says a firm, Patron Insight, has been hired to conduct a random telephone survey regarding the future bond issue to fund the project.  While not everyone will be called, those who are not will be able to complete a survey to be posted on the school district's website.

Meyer says the key question comes down to the three options being considered by the board, build new and remodel, build new and demolish, or build new on a new sight. However, a fourth option, no bond issue, also exists.

Meyer says calls are expected to begin in around 10 days, with a decision, based on the data, to be made by the board in mid-February.

Voters will have the final say at the polls, with the board of education deciding to hold  a May 6th special election for the issue.
