Atchison City Crews Work To Repair Water Main Break

(KAIR)--Residents in west Atchison, may have experienced no water pressure, while those in the rest of the city may have experienced low water pressure Thursday morning, the result of a water main break in the early morning hours in front of MO-KAN next to KFC.

Crews quickly arrived on scene to isolate the area and start repairs. City Manager Trey Cocking gave an initial completion time of four to five hours, but a fair bit of progress was made in a short amount of time, which made it possible for water to be restored for most residents just after 7:15 Thursday morning, though there was one industrial customer, and a few residents on the main directly that still had little pressure, though Cocking says crews are working hard to get them back to normal by late morning.

Cocking does apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused residents, and thanks everyone for their patience while repairs were being made.
