(KLZA)-- The Falls City Area Jaycees annual Distinguished Service Awards Ceremony was held Monday night at the Elk’s Lodge in Falls City.
Event Chair-person Stefanie Wenz says the Jaycees annual awards presentation went on despite a tough financial year for the Falls City chapter. Due to the lack of finances, the chapter was unable to make their annual donations to various groups and events.
The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Jaycee member Jennifer Willman.
The Boss of the Year Award was presented to Tony Brunette from F&M Bank.
The Outstanding Community Leader Award was presented to Merle Veigel, President of F&M Bank, who serves as Chairman of the Falls City Utility Board and is involved in a number of community organizations.
The Robert J. Chab Community Service Award was presented to Becky Fischer.
The Good Neighbor Award was presented to Marvin Arnold.
The Outstanding Educator Award was presented to Laurie Auffert.
The Hugh O’Brian Youth Awards were presented to Madison Buckminster from Falls City High School and Maggie Goltz from Sacred Heart High School.
A number of people that annually provide help and assistance to the Jaycees with their events were recognized by Jaycee President Christ Fischer.
The 2014 Jaycee Officers were sworn in at the conclusion of the meeting.
Chris Fischer will serve a second year as President. Vice President will be David Goff. Membership and Growth Vice President will be Alison Roland; Management and Development Vice President will be Jenna Frederick; Community Development Vice President will be Rachel Jackson.
