Sacred Heart Celebrates Catholic Schools Week
01/28/2014

(KTNC) --  Falls City Sacred Heart School kicked off the annual Catholic Schools week with an open house in the school lobby Monday morning.
The theme of the weeklong commemoration is “Catholic Schools – Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service.”  Sacred Heart School is marking its 123rd year providing Catholic education in Falls City.  The school has embarked on an effort to build a new activity center adjacent to the current school.
Monsignor Robert Roh says the initial motivation was to provide more space for Irish basketball teams to practice and has evolved from there.  Plans now call for a weight room and cafeteria in addition to the gymnasium.
The Sacred Heart National Honor Society hosted Monday’s open house.  Part of the week includes induction of new National Honor Society members.  The National Honor Society Induction will be at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, followed by an all-school mass at 2:00 p.m.  Bishop Conley will be in Falls City for the induction ceremony.
Other special days this week include Parent Appreciation Day, Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day, Grandfriends Day, and Student Appreciation Day.
