(KTNC) --  Pawnee City’s insurance carrier is providing recommendations following a risk management assessment that was completed this month.
The report from EMC Insurance found a couple areas where the city could improve.  One recommendation is for the city to come up with a more complete job description for employees.  The report also recommends the city develop more comprehensive pre-work screening programs.
Pawnee City employees have filed three workmen’s comp claims since September, and two city workers are recuperating from surgery and are not able to work.
The report also found a couple pieces of city-owned equipment that needed to be repaired.  Those repairs have been made.
The Pawnee City Council reviewed the risk assessment report during its meeting on Monday.
In other business, Librarian Lola Seitz presented the Library’s annual statistical report for 2013.  The Pawnee City Library has 928 registered patrons, with circulation of more than 6,100 adult books and 2,600 children’s books in the last year.
Seitz said 64 children participated in the summer reading program last year.  She also noted that the library is offering more classes through Southeast Community College.
The City Council approved a resolution to recreate the Airport Authority for the next 20 years, as required by state law.  The also approved a resolution to reappoint the current members of the Airport Authority.
And the council set the public hearing for the city’s one-and-six year street plan for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 10.
