(KAIR)--Nearly one hundred people gathered in the City Commission room of Atchison City Hall Thursday night to get to know the city's newest Public Works Director.
City Manager Trey Cocking says the Chamber After Hours Event was a good opportunity to showcase Justin Pregont, who has been on the job for about four months. Pregant came to Atchison from the city of Mission and they are very happy to have him.
Pregont says he has enjoyed his first few months in the job, and while there are some challenges with it, he says that is what he is here to do. He has already accomplished one major task with the city wide trash cart rollout, and says he feels that it went really well.
The Atchison Chamber of Commerce hosts After Hours events throughout the year when there has been a change in a local business, or when they want to show off something new to the public.
