(MSC News)--The Kansas Attorney General's Office prosecuted 29 individuals on meth related charges, resulting in prison sentences of five years or longer, during 2013.

That word comes from Attorney General Derek Schmidt, who says the successful convictions came through a close working partnership with local law enforcement statewide.

Schmidt says the 2013 methamphetamine convictions included 17 state cases and 12 federal court convictions.

Aiding in the state's role in the long running war on drugs are two special task forces established in the southern regions of the state.
