Riley County Soil Health Workshop

The Riley County Conservation District will be hosting a soil health workshop titled “Cover Crops: Don’t Knock It ‘Till You’ve Tried It.” The workshop will be March 6th from 9:30 to 2:30 at Pottorf Hall, Cico Park in Manhattan, Kansas.

 

There will be several guest speakers on the agenda including Dale Strickler, Star Seed; Dr. DeAnn Presley, KSU Extension; Dr. Peter Tomlinson, KSU Extension; Dr. Rick Haney (via webinar); Kris Ethridge, NRCS Resource Conservationist; Keith Burns, Green Cover Seed. Topics included will be grazing cover crops, soil properties, soil biology, cover crops and their uses, cover crops and wildlife, along with a demonstration of a rainfall simulator.
