(KNZA)--The first candidate has filed for the position of 1st District Doniphan County Commissioner.
H. James Ruhnke, of Highland, has filed on the Republican ticket.
The position is currently held by David Van Laar who has announced he is not seeking re-election.
The position of 1st District Commissioner is the only Doniphan County office up for election this fall.
Candidates have until noon, June 2nd to file.
