Brown County Commission Approves Road Project
02/28/2014

(KNZA)--The Brown County Commission has approved a project on a Washington Township road.

The commission Friday approved a request by Daryll Jamvold, president of Alfred Jamvold Inc., to replace a concrete box on 150th Road, about ¾ of a mile west of Sunflower Road, with a 24-inch diameter tube and raise the elevation of the road 4 feet.

Jamvold plans to construct three water retention structures for crop irrigation on property the corporation owns on both sides of the road.

Washington Township previously approved the work, and county approval was needed to obtain a permit from the state for construction of the dams.

The commission traveled to view the project site Monday.
