(KAIR)--An Atchison man is in custody after allegedly taking part in a disturbance at an Atchison Apartment complex that caused several apartments to be damaged over the weekend.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, officers were called to the complex located in the 300 block of Santa Fe early Saturday morning for a report of a disturbance. He says that when officers arrived at the scene, they took into custody 28-year-old Sydney Kye in connection with those damaged apartments. Once restrained, Kye proceeded to kick one of the arresting officers.
Wilson says several witnesses led police to Kye's location.. Once he was found, he readily admitted to his role in the incident.
Kye was transported to the Atchison County Jail where he faces charges of criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, battery on a law enforcement officer, and obstructing the legal process.
Wilson says the estimated cost to repair the damage Kye allegedly caused totals $600.
