(KLZA) -- The Humboldt – Table Rock – Steinauer School Board Monday night approved a number of resolutions concerning the proposed new addition to the north side of the school building in Humboldt.
What started as an HTRS Booster Club proposal for a better weight room for the school has grown to a full-blown addition adding classrooms, a hallway and of course the fitness center / weight room. The Booster Club has been fund-raising to help pay for the project for well over a year.
Monday night action approved Ameritas as the company to help with the finances, approved the architect and approved requesting the City of Humboldt vacate a small portion of property north of the school.
Superintendent Clint Kimbrough says another important step in the process, a community meeting should be coming up shortly. Kimbrough says public support is a huge step.
Bonding would not be required to pay for the project as currently proposed. If the town hall meeting is held later this month, hopes are to seek bids in the next 30-60 days and if the project moves forward, having it completed approximately a year from now.
