(KTNC) -- The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will wrap up its trout-stocking activities at area lakes Monday.
The commission plans to stock 600 catchable-size rainbow trout at Stanton Lake in Falls City and 300 fish at the Pawnee City Pond.
Last week, trout were stocked at Humboldt City Park Lake, Rotary Club Lake in Auburn, and at Steinhart Park in Nebraska City.
In conjunction with the fish stocking, the Game and Parks Commission is planning several family fishing nights across the state through early April.
Events run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the Game and Parks Commission will provide loaner equipment and volunteer instructors.
The fishing night schedule includes: March 24 at Rotary Club Lake in Auburn, March 25 at Stanton Lake in Falls City; and March 27 at City Park Lake in Humboldt.
Applicable fishing permits are required. All anglers in Nebraska, except residents under age 16, must have a fishing license. Permits can be purchased online at OutdoorNebraska.org.
