03/17/2014

(KLZA) -- Artie Lucas of Goldberg Group Architects from St. Joseph, Missouri met with Richardson County Commissioners last week to review the proposed Jail project.  Lucas recommended the County consider prefab steel cells and offered to take the Sheriff and / or a Commissioner on a tour of other facilities they have designed in the country with prefab cells.

Lucas presented a contract from Goldberg Group Architects for the design stage of the project for the Board to consider.

Merle Bachman and John Bangert representing Drainage District #8 met with Commissioners to discuss the status of a bridge which has been closed.  The affected landowners feel the structure needs to be replaced to allow access to property adjacent to the bridge and road.  ‘

County Attorney Doug Merz also met with the Board discussing a distress warrant to CLI Towers, Inc.  and requested authorization to contact the landowner to inquire as to their interest in selling the property to Richardson County.  Commissioners granted approval to proceed.
