(KAIR)--The Atchison Police Department is investigating a home burglary in which several items, including firearms, were taken. According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, the incident took place at a home located in the 13-hundred block of South Tenth Street late last week.
Wilson says forced entry was made into the home, and a good number of items were removed including four televisions, game systems, a safe, and three handguns. A 2003 Hyundai parked near the residence also had various electronic equipment taken from it. The home's residents, 24-year-old Krissi Walker and 25-year-old Jerry Sludder, were not home at the time of the burglary.
The estimated value of the items taken is just over $6,600. Police don't yet have any definite details relating to who may have taken part in the theft, but the search for leads continues.
