Richardson Co Moves Forward on Bridge Projects

 (KLZA) -- Richardson County Commissioners took action to move two bridge projects forward when they met Tuesday. 

The board voted to enter into an interlocal agreement with Nemaha County, Nebraska for the replacement of a bridge three miles east of Highway 73/75 on 720 Road, which is the Richardson - Nemaha County line.

Commissioners also approved an engineering agreement with Mainelli Wagner and Associates for replacement of a bridge a mile west of Dawson on 711 Road. 

In other action Commissioners approved the appointment of Trudy Burenheide to fill the vacancy that occurred on the Cooperative Extension Board due to the death of her husband Bernard Burenheide.

Extension Educator Katelyn Kennedy also presented the annual Extension report to the Commissioners during the meeting. 

A Mutual Aid Agreement with Nemaha County, Nebraska was approved. Commissioners also voted to enter into an agreement with Southeast Nebraska Community Action to provide local funding of $9,823 for the Richardson County Transit program.  The funding decreased by nearly $4,400 from last year. 

The meeting adjourned at 11:10 a-m.
