(KAIR)--A domestic disturbance over the weekend has lead to the arrest of an Atchison woman.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, officers were called to a residence located in the 800 block of North Second Street late Friday night for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, loud yelling could be heard coming from the front yard of the home.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that 54-year-old Bernice Hollinshed had been fighting with her 29-year-old son, and had what appeared to be marijuana on her person. Hollinshed was not arrested at that time since she claimed she was kicked in the chest by her son, and needed to go to the hospital. She was treated for the alleged injury and taken into custody after her release.
Hollinshed was transported to the Atchison County Jail, and is facing one charge of disorderly conduct and one charge of possession of marijuana. Wilson says there is also an allegation she made a threat with a pair of scissors, so an aggravated assault charge is possible as well.
