Holt County Election Results
04/09/2014

(KTNC) --  There were few contested races, and light voter turnout in Holt County for Tuesday’s Municipal elections.

A write-in candidate is likely the new mayor of Forest City. Only one name was on the ballot Tuesday. Kenneth Plummer received 15 votes.
Greg Book, who ran as a write-in candidate, received 51 votes. Missouri law allows people to file as write-in candidates up to two weeks before an election.

In school board races, Brian Tubbs, Jeff Holstine, and Chad Derr were elected to seats on the Mound City School Board.

Neal Prussman, Patrick Ezzell, and John Mackey were elected to the South Holt Board of Education. Prussman is new to the board.

There were no contested races in Mound City. Chris Krueger won another term as Mayor. Bob Heck will continue as a North Ward Alderman and James Krueger was elected to another term as South Ward Alderman.

In Maitland, John Sportsman narrowly won election as North Ward Alderman with 15 votes to 13 for Brett Long.

Larry Sipes was elected to be East Ward Alderman in Forest City, with 23 votes to 9 votes for Loyd Russell.

David Trauernicht was elected to fill an unexpired one-year term as an Alderman-at-large in Craig.

Richard Wilson was elected Mayor of Oregon, and Derek Weller and Rick Dozier were elected to Alderman positions.

Three tax questions on the ballot in Holt County were all approved. A half-cent countywide sales tax to fund road and bridge repairs received 70-percent support.

Voters in Craig approved a levy for street lighting, and voters in the Corning Special Road District approved a tax levy.

Holt County votes are being certified Wednesday.
