(KNZA)--An issue approaching the two year mark continues to play out in Horton's Municipal Court, with an elderly businessman from the Brown County community again facing legal troubles for failing to move forward with court ordered repairs to his downtown business building.
88-year-old Kenneth Knudson last year failed to adhere to the directions of the Municipal Court Judge to develop a plan to address the issue, landing him a December 26th 24-hour Brown County Jail stay.
According to court documents, the issue dates back to July of 2012 when Knudson was first informed through registered mail of the condition of the building's back wall. Twice given notice to fix the problems in 45 days, or schedule a hearing on the matter within 15 days, court documents state neither action was taken.
Knudson has cited lack of finances as the reason for his past lack of response.
Flash forward to this past Monday, when Knudson again appeared in the Horton Municipal Courtroom, in front of the same judge who jailed him.
Work to address the crumbling wall on the back side of Knudson's jewelry store remains undone, and Judge Michael Riley informed him that he has two weeks to begin that effort or he will again be held in contempt of court.
Knudson's next court appearance is set for April 28th.

Maybe Judge Michael Riley should jail Mother Nature for contempt since she has also interfered with his court order. You cant tuckpoint a brick wall in freezing weather or the rain, nor can you remove and relay brick mortar in freezing weather or the rain. Shame on Mother Nature for not cooperating with the sage judges plan.
