(KAIR)---Staff and students at Atchison High School were quickly evacuated from the building just before 11:30 Wednesday morning after a written bomb threat was found.
Parents received a text alert from the school district informing them of the threat, and that students had been moved to the stadium for their safety.
Superintendent Susan Myers says they take this kind of thing very seriously, and were quick to contact the Atchison Police Department. Police Chief Mike Wilson says officers and school staff conducted a thorough search of the building after the threat was found.
Wilson says it was determined the threat came from writings found on a restroom wall, which gave reason to alarm school staff. No bomb was found.
Students returned to the building just before noon after a thirty five minute search revealed no threat.
