Work to Resume on Marshall Co Resurfacing Project
04/23/2014

(KMZA)--Following a winter shutdown period, work is to resume Thursday on a resurfacing project on K-99 and K-87 in Marshall County

Weather permitting, the Kansas Department of Transportation says northbound and southbound K-99 will be reduced to one lane beginning Thursday in two to three-mile segments along with intermittent closures of adjacent cross roads.  A 9-mile stretch of the highway is being resurfaced from the K-16 junction at Blaine to five miles south of the city limits of Frankfort.   Five miles were completed during the 2013 construction season.

After the work on K-99 is complete, 10 miles of K-87 will be resurfaced from the north city limits of Vliets to the U.S. 36 junction.

Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via a pilot car operation during daylight hours only.

The scheduled completion date for the project is late June 2014, weather permitting
