(KAIR)--A weekend domestic disturbance has led to multiple charges against an Atchison man.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says the disturbance occurred occurred around 9:00 Friday night, but officers were not called to the residence, located in the 1300 block of North Fourth Street until just after 1:00 Saturday morning after the 18-year-old victim, who had taken part in the earlier disturbance, returned home to find that several items, including a mattress, box springs, and several items of clothing had been burned on her front lawn.
The suspect, 24-year-old Christopher Heston allegedly returned to the residence, while she was gone, entered the home, and removed the items before setting them on fire.
The items were completely destroyed.
Heston was at the scene when officers arrived and was immediately taken into custody. He was transported to the Atchison County Jail where he faces one count of arson, and one count of burglary.
