(KAIR)--A 5-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Atchison Friday afternoon.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, it happened just after 2:00 in the 1200 block of US 59 Highway when a vehicle jumped a curb and struck the child who was standing on it, knocking him onto an adjacent sidewalk.
The child was transported by Atchison County EMS to Children's Mercy hospital in Kansas City for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Police continue to investigate.
