More Travelers Expected This Weekend

Triple AAA Travel is predicting 36.1 million American will travel 50 miles or more form home during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.  This would represent at 1.5 percent increase from the 35.5 million people who traveled last year, and the highest total since 2005.  

Nearly 9 in 10 travelers will drive to their destinations.  Air travel is expected to rise more than two percent to 2.6 million.  Another 1.7 million are projected to travel by cruise, train or bus.  

In Nebraska, fuel prices are averaging 20 cents per gallon lower than at the same time last year with Mid-grade fuels averaging $3.50 per gallon.
