Memorial Day Programs Scheduled in Southeast Nebraska

(KLZA) -- Southeast Nebraska Memorial Day Services:

Falls City -  Steele Cemetery  - 11 a-m Monday.  Dr. Chick James will be the speaker for the program.

Humboldt – 11 a-m Monday in City Square Park presented by American Legion Post #259. The Avenue of Flags will be displayed at the Humboldt Cemetery.

Lunch served by American Legion Auxiliary after the program.

Pawnee City – 11 a-m Monday at the Pawnee City Cemetery.

Auburn – American Legion Post #23 will host it’s annual Memorial Day service at Legion Park at 10 a-m.  The Southeast Community Band will perform following the program.

Rulo – 9 a-m Monday.  Dr. Chick James will be the speaker for the program.  

Tecumseh – The Tecumseh Honor Guard and Firing Squad will conduct several services at cemeteries.

9:30 a-m at Maple Grove Cemetery

10 a-m at St. Andrew Cemetery

10:30 a-m at the Spring Creek Cemetery

11 a-m at the Tecumseh Cemetery

The Veterans Memorial in the courtyard will be held at 11:30 a-m with guest speaker Rev. Jason Wolter, Pastor from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tecumseh. 

Cook – The Bickel-Nelson American Legion Post #360 will conduct a number of services.

9:30 a-m at Helena Cemetery

9:50 a-m at the Cook and Grace Lutheran Cemetery

10:10 a-m at the St. Paul’s UCC Osage Cemetery.

10:30 a-m at the Livingston Cemetery

10:50 a-m at the Mt. Hope Cemetery

A Memorial Day Dinner will be served at the Cook Community Building by the Cook American Legion Auxiliary Unit #360 from 11 a-m until 1 p-m. A free will offering will be accepted. 

Elk Creek -  The Tracy-Bates American Legion Post #370 will conduct  Memorial Day Services at Grandview Cemetery at 9:30 a-m

St. James Lutheran ( Long Branch ) Cemetery at 10 a-m

St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery at 10:30 a-m

Mt. Hope Cemetery at Elk Creek at 11 a-m

A potluck meal will be served at the Elk Creek Fire Hall at noon.

Johnson – The Bender-Reese American Legion Post #330 will with a firing squad and color guard to conduct services at the following cemeteries.

9 a-m Brock Cemetery

9:30 a-m St. Paul’s Lutheran ( Hickory Grove ) Cemetery

10 a-m – St. John’s (Stone) Cemetery 

10:30 a-m Martin Luther ( Timer Creek ) Cemetery

11 a-m – Johnson Cemetery

The Johnson American Legion Auxiliary Unit #330 will provide a covered dish dinner to be served at approximately noon.
