Health Advisory Remains for Atchison's Warnock Lake
06/06/2014

(KNZA)--A public health advisory remains in place for Warnock Lake in Atchison County.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment says the latest samples from the lake continue to detect high levels of toxic blue-green algae. The advisory was initially issued in late May.

The agency says boating and fishing is allowed, but direct contact with the water is discouraged for people and animals.

The advisory will remain in place until further notice.
