(KMZA)--K-9 Highway at the west edge of Frankfort has re-opened to traffic following a train derailment earlier this month.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says as of Wednesday morning the highway has returned to normal traffic operations.
12 cars of 137 car Union Pacific coal train derailed on June 2nd. The train was headed from Wyoming to an electric utility in Texas when the derailment occurred. No injuries were reported
The rail line itself reopened the following morning after the replacement of about 500 feet of track.
