(KNZA)--An early Monday morning traffic stop in Horton lands a man and woman behind bars where they face a number of drug related charges.
Horton Police Chief John Calhoon says the stop was made because the couple riding together, 46-year-old Michael Blunt and 39-year-old Tammi Snethen, were not supposed to have contact with each other due to a domestic incident that happened June 10th. “Mr. Blunt had been arrested last week in conjunction with domestic violence with the driver of the vehicle and there was a no contact order in effect,” Calhoon tells MSC News. “Subsequent investigation led to numerous drug related charges.”
Blunt was taken into custody on charges including violation of a protection order, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an opiate.
Snethen was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were booked into the Brown County Jail.
Calhoon says the case is now being reviewed by the Brown County Prosecutor for the possible filing of formal charges.
