(KAIR)--An Atchison man is facing a felony theft charge for allegedly taking a bag containing a large amount of money from a vehicle.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, 19-year old Luke Crawford was arrested Wednesday evening on an Atchison County warrant.
The warrant was issued after the Atchison Police Department conducted an investigation into an incident that took place in June of this year. The victim, 56-year-old Michael Scott, reported that he had parked his vehicle in front of a residence located in the 1300 block of M street. Crawford, who was at the residence, allegedly removed a bag containing over $4,000 from the unsecured vehicle.
Crawford had also been issued a Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in court. He posted bond on both warrants, and was released from the Atchison County Jail shortly after his arrest Wednesday night.
