Court Hearing Held for Former Deputy
07/15/2014

(KTNC)-- A former Richardson County Deputy made his first appearance in Richardson County Court Monday morning.
During the hearing, Judge Kurt Maschman advised Joshua Nincehelser of the nature of the charges against him and advised him of his rights against self-incrimination.
Nincehelser faces four counts, a felony count of criminal mischief and misdemeanor charges of false reporting, official misconduct, and obstructing government operations.
Authorities say Nincehelser shot himself in the arm, then shot his patrol vehicle, while on duty on June 9, then lied to investigators, saying that he was shot by a man in a car stopped on a rural Richardson County road.
Nincehelser, of Dawson, was released on bond after his bond was reduced last week to 10-percent of $25,000. It had been $50,000. He’s due to appear in court next for a preliminary hearing at 1:00 p.m. on August 4.
