(KAIR)--The USD 377 Board of Education took care of several organizational matters during their meeting Monday evening.
One item discussed by the board concerned the renewal of the district's health insurance contract. Superintendent Steve Wiseman says that since they signed onto the state plan three years ago, the district's health insurance costs have been pretty flat in that time. He adds that before signing on, their rates ranged anywhere from 15%-30% increases in health insurance costs.
Wiseman says that it is very important to the district that they find a plan that not only does not continuously increase their rates, but also meets the needs of their employees.
In other business, the board approved the publication of next year's district budget and a public hearing has been set for its review for August 11th at 6:15pm.
Finally, Jeff Martin was selected to serve as Board President for the coming year, and Tana Hoffman was selected to serve as Board Vice-President.
