(KAIR)--The formal charges to be filed against the Atchison man accused of killing the 5-year-old daughter of his girlfriend Friday night will likely be known later this morning.
The shooting death happened on Leavenworth's Metropolitan Avenue following a police pursuit after Marcus McGowan fled with young Cadence Harris.
Remaining hospitalized in Kansas City, McGowan was placed under arrest Monday on charges including first-degree felony murder.
This morning, Leavenworth County Prosecutor Todd Thompson will unveil the formal charges during a 9:00 press conference in Leavenworth.
