(KAIR)--Over a dozen people gathered at Paolucci's restaurant in Atchison Monday Morning for a chance to meet with Republican United States Senate hopeful Dr. Milton Wolf of Leawood.
The stop was just one on Wolf's three week, 45 stop “Save the Republic 2014” tour of the state.
Wolf told those in attendance that he has some very strong feelings on what needs to be done to in Washington to make things better for not only the people of Kansas, but for the country as a whole. He says that “our message is pretty simple. America is in deep trouble and we need a course correction. I believe we need to re embrace the constitution, we need to re embrace the American ideal of self, of individual liberty, limited government, and free market values. That's what makes America great, and that is what will make us great again”.
Wolf adds there are several policies he would like to see changed if he were elected, starting with term limits for congress, including himself. He would also like to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and replace it with his own patient centered care plan. Other changes include sealing the country's southern borders and abolishing the IRS.
Wolf is joining Russell resident Alvin Zahnter and D.J. Smith of Osawatomie in challenging incumbent Pat Roberts in the August 5th primary election.
Two Democrats, Shawnee County Attorney Chad Taylor and Lawrence Lawyer Patrick Wiesner, are seeking their party's approval to challenge the Republican primary winner in the November 4th general election.
