(KAIR)--As KAIR radio celebrates seventy five years on air, we pause to take a look back on some of the people and events that have helped make us part of the Atchison community for over seven decades. Each week, we will focus on a story that helps us remember a bit of our history.

While the damage these disasters created was extensive, it did lead to a period of urban renewal for the city. Chris Taylor, Executive Director for the Atchison County Historical Society provides some insite on not only how the floods impacted the city, but how the city used them to launch into a period of renewal in the downtown area.
