Richardson County Budget Hearing Scheduled

(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing Tuesday, September 16th at 11 a-m on the budget proposal for fiscal year 2014-15. A second public hearing on setting the tax levy at a different rate than the prior year is scheduled for 11:15 a-m.

The preliminary budget calls for a levy decrease of 7.7 percent, amounting to 2.8 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.  The proposed levy is 33.64 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. 
 
If approved the levy would bring in $4,312,341 which is $280,525 more than last year, an increase of 6.8 percent.  The Richardson County valuation has increased 16 percent, to $1,281,911,727.  That is $176.6-million dollars higher than last year.
